Chennai Super Kings produced a stunning turnaround at Chepauk to defeat Kolkata Knight Riders in a high-intensity clash, with Noor Ahmad emerging as the game-changer.
CSK, batting first, set a strong target of 193 runs. KKR’s chase began on a shaky note with two early wickets, but captain Ajinkya Rahane held the innings together with a composed knock. Up until the halfway mark, KKR looked well in control and seemed on track to chase down the total.
The momentum, however, shifted dramatically in the 11th over when Noor Ahmad came into the attack. He dismissed Rahane at a crucial moment, breaking the backbone of KKR’s innings. On the very next ball, Cameron Green was bowled for a duck, putting KKR under immediate pressure.
As the game progressed into the final overs, Noor struck again by removing the dangerous Rinku Singh, who is known for finishing games. His smart variation forced a mistimed shot, resulting in a crucial catch near the boundary.
With three key wickets in quick succession, Noor Ahmad completely turned the match in CSK’s favor. Supported by disciplined bowling from the rest of the unit, KKR were restricted to 160/7 in their 20 overs.
CSK eventually secured a convincing 32-run victory. Noor Ahmad’s match-winning spell earned him the Player of the Match award, as Chennai showcased their trademark ability to bounce back
