A shocking multiple murder case from Rajasthan’s Ajmer district has sent shockwaves across the state after a former village head, his mother, second wife, and niece were found dead under mysterious circumstances. What initially appeared to be a tragic vehicle fire soon turned into a major criminal investigation that uncovered allegations of a carefully planned murder involving close family members.
The victims were identified as Ram Singh Choudhary, a former sarpanch (village head), his mother Poosi Devi, his second wife Suryagyan Devi, and his niece Mahima Chaudhary. Their bodies were discovered near Shrirampura village, located around 60 kilometers from Ajmer city.
Authorities initially believed the incident was an accidental fire after a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle was found completely burnt on a roadside. However, investigators became suspicious when they discovered inconsistencies at the scene. Three charred bodies were recovered from inside the vehicle, while the body of Suryagyan Devi was found separately in a nearby field.
As police began collecting evidence, the case took a dramatic turn. Investigators alleged that Ram Singh’s first wife, Sunita, along with their daughter and minor son, may have been involved in the killings. All three were taken into custody for questioning as police pieced together the sequence of events.
According to investigators, the family had been dealing with long-standing domestic disputes for years. Ram Singh had married Sunita in 2005 and the couple had two children together. In 2019, he reportedly married Suryagyan Devi despite opposition from his first wife. Since then, tensions within the household allegedly escalated.
Police sources claim that the minor son confessed during questioning and described years of conflict and abuse within the family. He allegedly told investigators that frequent disputes, emotional distress, and domestic tensions fueled resentment against his father.
Investigators further alleged that the crime was planned in advance. According to police findings, a heated argument reportedly took place shortly before the murders. Later that night, Ram Singh was allegedly attacked while asleep. Authorities believe that subsequent killings occurred after other family members became witnesses to the incident.
Following the deaths, investigators suspect that the accused attempted to destroy evidence. According to police, the bodies were moved into the Scorpio vehicle, which was later set on fire in an effort to make the deaths appear accidental.
Forensic experts examining the scene reportedly discovered blood traces inside the house and other physical evidence suggesting that the killings occurred before the bodies were transported. Additional forensic clues, including mobile phone records and technical evidence, helped investigators reconstruct the events leading up to the crime.
Police also recovered items believed to be connected to the case and found indications that efforts had been made to clean potential evidence from the property. Investigators continue to analyze forensic samples and question the accused to determine whether additional individuals were involved.
The case has attracted widespread public attention because of its disturbing nature and the alleged involvement of immediate family members. Authorities have stated that the investigation remains ongoing and that further evidence will be examined before final charges are determined.
The tragedy has once again highlighted how unresolved domestic disputes can sometimes escalate into extreme violence, leaving entire families devastated and communities shocked.
