The phrase “India Lockdown Again” started trending on the internet after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech in the Rajya Sabha about the West Asia war situation. Many people began searching online to check whether a lockdown would be imposed in India due to rising global tensions.
During his speech, the Prime Minister spoke about the impact of the war in West Asia on the world economy, fuel supply, and security situation. After this, rumours spread on social media claiming that India might go into lockdown again, which led to panic searches on Google.
However, there has been no official announcement from the Government of India about any lockdown. Officials said people should not believe rumours and should rely only on official information. The government has not issued any order related to lockdown, and normal activities continue across the country.
Experts say the trend started mainly due to fear and misunderstanding after the speech, not because of any real decision.
